ABOUT ED FORTEZ and KOINIKUYA

Known for his innovative, winning strategies, competitive streak, fighting spirit and maverick ways in corporate boardrooms, Ed discovered the beauty of  Nishikigoi during a break from his busy schedule and has been a koikichi ever since.   He entered his first koi show only weeks after starting his collection and won 14 prizes including Baby Champion and two Best in Sizes.

Determined to prove that discerning great  koi was not the exclusive realm of experienced collectors with resources, he diversified his collection into rarer varieties and managed to win no less than 12 prizes in every koi show he entered, including the most competitive ones held in Northern California.

Ed retired from koi show circuit after only three years and started Koinikuya.com to share his paintings, vision and selected koi with the world.
